Is there an included 64 bit delay in X1? REVISED ISSUE

I deleted all the 32 bit stuff and now I can't find a delay plug in. I can use GR5 or other options but I'd like to find a stand alone 64 bit delay for the FX bin. I thought I had one.

All the Sonitus stuff is flagged as 32 bit in the plug in manager. Is this an error? Same goes for the VC64, it is flagged as a 32 bit plug.

I'm not sure if my install,is showing the same, but yes,a lot of plugs I thought,or was informed were 64,are in fact showing as 32 bit now.

I'm only running a 64 bit version of X1,but as I still have afew usefull tools that are still only 32,I'm electing to just use the built in "bridge",which, unless I'm mistaken,is working with as much resolution/detail,as the 64 plugs, they just have their quirks due to 32/bridge.

Back to the unanswered question ,I too would like to know why certain things labeled 64,are indeed showing as 32,however,I do think it is a great addition for X1d to have the listing of which is 32 now,we just want a definitive answer on which are actually 64.

    Cheers

If you have both the x86 and x64 versions of SONAR installed and you have SONAR set to scan both VST directories, then yes, the Plugin Manager will show x86 and x64 versions of the plugins.

Tempo Delay, and all the other Half-Rack effects, are all native x64 as are all of the Sonitus effects. The only plugins that come with SONAR that are only x86 and have no x64 version are VC-64 Vintage Channel, Perfect Space Convolution Reverb, and the DSP effects (DXi only, doesn't work with Bit-Bridge).

    Wow so fast Seth,Thank you,amazing!

Yes,I have noticed all DX plugs/instruments are now un available, now I only have a 64 version of X1 installed,I'm now wondering if I should go back, and reinstall the 32bit version of the program again,as I only understand your answer,if I had BOTH versions installed.

    Cheers
    Bob

PS After rereading your answer,I understand completely,I was just shocked,at how fast your answer appeared,I didn't read it correctly,THANKS.

Are you sure you're scanning the folder(s) that contains the 64bit versions?  By default that would be a sub-folder under c:\program files vs. c:\program files (x86).

install the 64 bit version again: CUSTOM install

    ,but NOT the program files.

And use the default selection of plugins

    and don't delete them again

FWIW I don't have the x86 version installed and haven't in several years (SONAR or 8 maybe, IIRC). x86 DX plugs will never show in x64 SONAR since Bit-Bridge only wraps VST plugins. Really, though, what are you missing with the DSP effects that you can't get with Sonitus, the Channel Strip plugins, and the ProChannel? Unless there's some old project that uses these plugins that you just absolutly have to have then ya, you could install the x86 version alongside the x64 version. If it were me, though, I would open that project in SONAR x64 and remix the project using the ProChannel and other x64 plugs.

OK, this is a problem. It sounds like it should be no problem to reinstall the plugs, but it is a problem. I've never done a 32 bit install but I only have 32 bit Sonitis plugs.

I don't know why there's any 32 bit stuff on the machine, but there it is.

I went to reinstall the 64 bit components but it doesn't work. I have dozens of X1 install files and they all seem to be the wrong ones. IS there any way of knowing what files should be on the computer? I want to eliminate all files that are not required, to clean up my system. I can find no information about the install files.

My backups are also full of this garbage so that's not an option. The Cakewalk installers are sloppy and leave stuff all over the machine. I wish I had known that. Not only duplicate installs and programs but duplicate sample libraries. Any ideas how to fix it?

    Regards, John

If it were me, I'd uninstall everything including registry entries, run a defrag, and start over fresh making sure I checked everything I wanted installed.

It's a hastle, I know, but that way there's no questions.

The Cakewalk FX series are very good, but they are dx. Try as I may, I can get close with the sonitus plugs - but they are different. And of course they should be different. Otherwise, there would be no need to develop or buy any plug ever including the prochannel modules if Sonitus covers everything - which it doesn't. The fx series plugs are the reason I stay in 32 bit world. Especially for the delay, chorus and reverb flavors they produce vs sonitus.

I also use sonitus plugs in every project as well. They are also quality plugs imho.
