Clip pan enveope will not work

I am using an older template of Sonar - I have a mono track and want to apply a pan clip envelope.

I have placed the envelope on the clip, and the track pann setting is set to center - yet still no left-right movement in the clip. What am I doing wrong?

Also, I can't seem to find the mono-stereo switch for the track (??)

    What was the problem?
I used to have that happen on older versions of Sonar and in case it happens again I'd like to know what I did and how to fix it.

    Thanks

I think for clip panning to work you must be certain your track interleave is set to stereo

Sonar Platinum , ADK Computer -Intel - Penryn Quad Core Q9400 Processor, Windows 7 Home premium 64, RME Fireface UFX, Grace 101 Pre's, A-800 Pro, assorted mics, Strats ,Les Pauls, Mesa Boogies

Correct.  You can't have two clips panned differently if the track itself is mono.  I imagine it would be similar to having two panned tracks feeding a single mono bus.
