Ortho Home Defense Max Insect Killer....available at most hardware stores....I sprayed the perimiter my whole house down and haven't had hardly any bug problems this year....no ants, flies, spiders, nothing, just once in a great while a flying bug gets in but it's nothing compared to before. Highly recommended.

I have a similar issue but it's more to do with unwanted vegetation growth, like verdigris, moss, lichens and ferns.

There must be a better way than hand-weeding.

Jonbouy, you can always ask the Oompa Loompa's for assistance with the hand weeding. That's of course, before Mr. Wonka discovers them. @djwayne, yeah those pest pose a real problem to anyone's studio or home studio. My worst fear is them getting into the desktop fan vents. On laptops, some use a fine mesh where there are vents. But any clever insect could most likely find their way into any laptop. The desktop is a larger concern for me because of the investment and the fact that they house all the recording software.

?? I'm in Florida with all kinds of inscects and don't have any problems with the PC, in the house.

That Ortho Home Defense Max does nothing for me.  I use a product called "Demon" which is a water soluble powder packet that is mixed with water.  I use double strength and spray every couple of months inside and out and have almost no "bug" problems in the house.
