Old Issue Returns: VIS Stop Playing

Randomly, a virtual instrument (e.g., SI-Bass, Ivory II) will just stop playing. Sometimes one instance will be fine but another will make no sound. Even when I open the interface and click on the virtual keyboard, there is no sound even though I can see the MIDI lights flashing. Rebooting Sonar will fix this--for a while. Any ideas?

For me, when this happens I do a full shutdown and reboot.

Silly suggestion, but have you tried resetting your Audio and MIDI?

Hey, Living Room.  Not a silly suggestion at all—it's a good suggestion.  Unfortunately, I did try that (meaning I clicked the icon that looks like a MIDI plug with a line through it).  I also tried stop-starting the audio engine, but that was pure desparation since the audio was running on other things.
