What it sounds like you have done is a PROCESSED Fade,
undo (ctrl+z) is your only chance of, well... undo them. But if you have made other adjustments and added to your project, that's not really goin to be an option.
I think you're going to have to replace all the faded clips by importing the orginial clips back in to the project and lining them up with the faded ones.
From now on I'd suggest you use the clip fade function,
when in magic tool mode (the star), drag in the start/end (fade in/out) using the top half og the clip. This will create an EDITABLE fade that can be re-adjusted at any point.(by dragging at the little triangle at the top of the faded part.
Also if you right clip on the fade you will get options for the type of fade (Fast, Slow, linear)
