Sonitus Suite in VST form, for $19? Hmm

I'll probably take advantage of this, even though I own SONAR 8.5.3 and SONAR X1d.

1) the delay memory leak could be fixed, and
2) if I ever move my projects into another DAW, I'll have my favorite go-to FX suite.

I do have a question, though. From the blog post:

"Now you can use them in any VST-compatible Windows Vista/Windows 7 DAW (includes 32 and 64-bit versions)."

From the buy/download page:

"Please Note: System Requirements: This download was intended for use with 32-bit versions of Windows 2000/XP. On 64-bit Windows Vista & Windows 7 it will only install as 32-bit plug-ins."

So... which one is correct?

They are DX plugins. And no, they won't be fixed. Same bugs you already have.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I have the Sonitus FX Suite in both DX and VST. Works fine either way.

They apparently fixed the delay memory leak in X1b.

I have X1 installed but don't use it. I wonder if that fixed my Sonitus in 8.53.
Anyway to test for the mem leak??

    This is good news.

I've always wanted this set in VST but it was hard to justify paying $299.00 when the new state of the art PC modules go for $10 a pop.

I'd like to know more about the 64bit issue. I thought these were all 64bit ready to go.

    best regards,
    mike

Has anyone found an answer for the question raised about this statement at the Cakewalk store:

"Please Note: System Requirements: This download was intended for use with 32-bit versions of Windows 2000/XP. On 64-bit Windows Vista & Windows 7 it will only install as 32-bit plug-ins."

I was hoping to send in the $19.99 yesterday but hesitated because it seemed as if the package has been limited in some way.

I'd like to understand that statement better before I buy the 32bit versions if there really is a 64bit choice that has been available. I want the 64 bit.

    best regards,
    mike

Just confirmed on Facebook: " SONAR X1 Studio and Producer include the entire Sonitus Suite (as both 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins) and is supported on Windows Vista and Windows 7. The $19.99 download is 32-bit."

Yeah the VST version would be useful if used outside of Sonar but if you plan on using those editions of Sonar... doesn't make sense to get it but I do like what Cakewalk is doing by selling their Sonar based plugins as separate VSTs - now you can harness their power in other DAWS.

I can use the ones that came with Sonar in other audio applications so I don't see a need to re-purchase them.
