The inter net is broken according to you problem report page .So here I post

Avid artist series controllers. There are still no working drivers without issues. One is still unable to select buses on the touch  screen.Still  jittery touch screen. These Problems were reported before by me. You guys don't even list the reported known issues . You just proudly represent to members that your driver is working ,same page as before I sent in my problem reports. This is false advertising.  You should include a  detailed list of the problems so members can see them before they waste their money. This is unacceptable. You phone support used to be helpful. Now in many cases the Tech support people don't have a clue about other known issues the that have been well documented. Are you guys trying to self destruct!? I really don`t understand the meteoric fall in the quality of your customer support. Are you trying to follow the Avid model of support and customer relations?

Cakewalk are certainly struggling to cope with support issues at the moment. I know that as fact, from a recent correspondence with Cakewalk. Which is a shame, as, in the meantime, many more people are taking advantage of the current incentives being advertised. By that time, you have spent your hard earned cash and may well feel that you have a product that is not fit for purpose. For Cakewalk's sake, I hope that it is only a few of us that are encountering problems at the moment, otherwise the situation will only get worse.

Dare I say, patience is required at this time...

I like the way that Cakewalk is to blame for an avid controller not working as you would like.. but no matter, hopefully you have a nicer attitude when dealing with Cakewalk directly.. personally if it was me and you had this attitude if i was the technical support person i would pull that "the internet is down" trick too

    Hi Guys,

If you're getting the "the internet is down" message, can you try clearing your browser's cache? This isn't some trick we're trying to pull, it's probably an old version of the page cached and posing a problem. I'll have our IT guys look into it but I'd recommend just trying to clear your browser's cache & cookies to see if it helps.

In regards to this particular issue, I discussed this in length here already: http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2572116

As I mentioned previously, if the CWBRN linked to the internal report gets resolved you will receive automatic notification via email. Technical Support/Customer Service/Product Support/whatever you want to call us has done everything we can do in our means to address your concerns. I'm sorry I don't have any more information other then what I posted in May.

Hi Mystic 38:The  internet   for tech support being down was not an anger issue. I was simply explaining as to why I was posting the message in the forum instead of to the tech support site.
I think you should be aware of the history of this issue and a few other mitigating factors which resulted  in the seemingly abrupt tone used in my previous post.
Cakewalk has and still does represent on their site that there is a working diver co-developed by cakewalk and Avid  to allow the Avid Artist series of control  surfaces to work with sonar X1.
Based on this information I purchased $3000.00 worth of the avid product and installed the drivers as per the directions on the cakewalk and plus Avid site.
Found the  the units to few frustrating  issues. The largest of these is when one selects a buss, including the master bus it does not stay selected on the Artist Control touch screen.  I first contacted customer support about 3 months ago with this issue and was told by the tech person it was an Avid issue and cakewalk does not support non cakewalk products. Please recall the words that are still on the driver download screen. Cakewalk and Avid co-developed the driver. I contacted cakewalk by email copied it to this forum and also through a dealer had the issue raised with Roland.
I was contacted by Seth and  told the issue was to given top priority and that some of the minor issues I  mentioned such as the banking problems had solutions.
I Applied the solutions and these did work.
The issue of screen jitter was not solved and blamed on the Avid product, even though  I have found it does not do this with  6.5 Cubase or Protools 10 .
I was told to give them a call directly to discuss the problems.
When I did , Tech support had no clue as to what I was talking about and both Ryan and Seth were not reachable.
This was dismissed by both sides as a misunderstanding the give us a call with the problems message.
It has now been three months , the major issue has not been solved and there is still no warning about the problems listed  in the driver download section or anywhere else except the forum that I can find.
I think it only fair and honest business practice to make customers aware of such an important issue.
I already went through this song and dance with the v studio vs 700, finding out only after blowing 4 grand that the  synth did not work in 64 bit mod. This was   not advertised at first. Both of those units are now in the land fill after 3 years of making do.
I have been using cakewalk software since Cakewalk 7. It is only after the trouble free  release of X1 that I have been using other  DAWS   to bring up the slack.
If I seem annoyed or abrupt in my previous  message, walk in my shoes for the past 4 years.

Wait, wait, wait. You threw away two VS-700R's?

Hell, I would have taken them off your hands.

What a waste and gross overreaction.

Sorry but these items kept deteriorating from  bad to worse . the USB ports failed a number of times and needed replacing . During the last repair there were various glitches in their use. this got to a point where they were not working reliably and I could not count on them . Roland support sucked at the time.  I really saw no future or support for this product. o one I know even wanted them for free.  therer was 1 700c and 1 700r .They were cluttering up my garage so I tossed them. Yes it was a waste of money but hitting them with the sledge hammer numerous times before I through them in the bin was very gratifying and it gave me a sense of closure. In fact it was the only time they performed as expected. They broke into evil little pieces! lol.  For all the money and time I spent on beating that dead horse. I say to  Roland and  their recording gear "Fool me once shame on you on you.......... "  I am sorry I did not send them to you but you should  feel lucky. they can't even sell the new ones in the music store around here. They could have bee great if only Cakewalk and Roland agreed on the day of the week it is .Both companies made great products on their own , however this merger has ruined cakewalk support and software development which was excellent  This has tarnished Roland's project studio market with the V  studio   IMHO. It is really a shame. I am having to use three DAW software  titles when  I used to do all  with one. Those are my work arounds.
