Capture multiple MIDI clips and place them into Sonar??

I want to audition a bunch of short MIDI drum riffs (1-2 measures each).

I simply want to capture/copy them and put them on a Sonar track, but it seems right now that I need to open each one individually as a file, and then copy the clip and paste it into my main Sonar project file. Is there a quicker and easier way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Sonar supports drag and drop for both audio and MIDI, so you can just drag them into your project either from the Browser, or from Windows (they will be copied automatically, so the original file remains inplace no need for cut and paste). You can also audition MIDI files from within the Browser - make sure you select the appropriate synth output to do so (along with loop, and playback at project tempo if needed). Not sure how well this will work with drums, but you never know.

If all you want is to preview them use the media browser in X1 and setup a drum synth for your preview synth.

Once you find one you like just drag in to a track.

    Capture...

So you're getting them from a drum machine, or playing them live?

I used to do that but sync the drum machine to sonar first.

copy is actually a better description; the files exist now, but i need a better way to get them into sonar quickly.
