Salmonella Poisoning!!!
All my lab work came back. Salmonella poisoning was what I was just told by the Doctor. That explains everything and the only solution is! I NEED A CHEF! All I need to do now is figure out how to get one! Craigslist? Newspaper Ad? MM100's Sister in Law's friend that thinks I Am cute? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated! Then I can get back to recording and all with my wonderful SONAR Expanded!!!

Salmonella is the pits. I only had it once and really thought I was going to die. I managed to walk 2 miles bent double to get to a Doctor who gave me the news. I got it from a take-away chinese spring roll that had been kept in a hot cabinet. The good news was that I got back to normal very quickly, 24 hours... Get well soon Bill.

some people must be immune to it..... I was working in a house on an electrical issue when a girl came home from school. She decided to fix a snack. Keep in mind this was at 4pm and it was a warm day. The house did not have air conditioning. She fired up the stove and slid the pan which was setting on the range top when I arrived there earlier, on to the burner. It had congealed grease in it. Then she placed a slice of baloney into the pan. The baloney had been setting on the kitchen counter all day and had a white-ish look to it. She took 2 slices of bread after brushing the roaches off the bread, and spread some mayonnaise on it. Yeah... the mayo had been setting on the counter all day too....and was yellow in color. then she ate it. It made my co-worker sick just watching her eat it.

Herb it took till Wednesday before I could sit up. Yesterday I ate some soup my sister brought me and today I'm back to practicing. Monday late afternoon the Doc sent me to the emergency room because it was so late in the day and after examining me he didn't want to take any chances. They did blood work etc. It was real bad! He told me because of my cancer treatments my immune system is bad and all bacteria have a shot at me. Not good

☄ Helpful
Salmonella is an infection strictly speaking, not a toxin. Although it is often acquired from food, it is not a normal constituent of most foods. It is a normal constituent of some feces i. e. the feces excreted from an infected individual or animal. The typical pattern in adult infections is stool contamination of food > sufficient time and growing conditions to reach an infectious amount of the bacteria > ingestion of the contaminated food by the victim > sufficient time to produce an amount of the bacteria to cause symptoms in the victim (typically including diarrhea) > passage of infected feces by the victim and so on. So yes, some people are quite resistant to certain strains of the bacteria, and can clear the bacteria from their bodies. Some people are immune to the effects of the bacterial toxin that causes the symptoms and can harbor the bacteria in large numbers without becoming ill, and still pass on symptomatic infections from their stool (carrier state). Since heat kills the bacteria, adequately cooked food renders it harmless. And the bacteria do not grow well in the cold, so cold storage keeps the numbers low in contaminated food. And if the food is not contaminated by the bacteria, then any amount of poor storage or preparation of the food will not cause it to harbor the bacteria. It is also possible to acquire the bacteria directly from the source instead of via the intermediary of food. So watch where you put your mouth.

David, It was the chicken I made Friday night. I was in a hurry and didn't defrost it enough. I remember thinking after I got it out of the oven this didn't cook long enough but it looked OK. I pulled off a piece to give to my dog and noticed it was a little tough. I had smothered it in BBQ sauce. I've never had Salmonella so I blew it off. I won't ever do that again!

Well, that doesn't sound like any fun at all. No, none. Don't do that any more. I'm glad you're feeling better. Keep up the recovery.
