Can't use ALT+S to solo my track?

I'm trying to create a macro for soloing my tracks but the shortcut doesn't seem to work, any ideas? Same applies for the track mute and record.

How are you trying to do this "macro"?

BTW, (in case you didn't know)
/ works for solo
F4 for mute
R for record

ASUS P8P67, i7-2600K, CORSAIR 16GB, HIS 5450, 3 Samsung SSD 850, Win7 64, RME AIO.

/ works for Solo but it is the only shortcut you cite which functions as the OP requests.
F4 pulls up the Master Transport. R starts recording (it functions as the Record button on the Transport) but does not do the same thing as clicking the R button on a track which "arms" the track.

Go to Options>Key Bindings. In the Right list, Bind Context, select Global Bindings. They will follow the order of the upper Command functions like File followed by Edit followed by Process etc. as you scroll down. Eventually you find the Track commands. Find "Track|Mute" or "Track|Arm for recording". Now press the Find Key button. Press any key on the keyboard - I would suggest the period (.) or comma (,) key as they are not yet bound and reside directly beside the / key which already activates Solo On/Off. Once you Locate the key and OK it it will be highlighted in the left list. Now highlight "Track|Mute" or "Track|Arm for recording" in the right list and click the Bind button.

Choose any keys you like but be careful not to kill existing bindings you might find helpful. Using the ,./ keys works well as they are all beside each other and this will not interfere with any existing bindings, at leasty none that I'm aware of.
Edited to fix "left" and "right" list mixup

Many thanks for that. You're a lifesaver. Cheers to everyone for the suggestions too. Problem solved!
