Why is my project tempo changing???

I ran into this problem before but I can't remember why it happens.  I changed the project tempo from 120 to 150 however halfway through my project  it changes back to 120...so frustrating!!!  HELP!

You either have an event throwing a tempo change, or (maybe) you have inserted something that has its own tempo assigned (maybe a loop, step sequencer, or something) at that point. Should be fixed by having it follow the project's tempo. (A checkbox somewhere.)

Honestly just adjusted the tempo at the bar where it was changing...I'm not entirely sure why this happened in the first place though, sorry.

Ok guys...it happened again...i'm having so much trouble with Sonar I'm really wanting to switch to Cubase.  Can someone please tell me why when I punch in a new tempo its only changing the tempo for one beat/bar and not the whole project.

Do you have an active Midi controller in the project set to a 120 tempo?

Not using a control at the moment but I am using battery and it is set at 120, trying to bump the tempo to 150 but it keeps bouncing between 120 and 150...

I had this problem too while demoing X1. What I did on that particular project was, open the tempo view and manually edited it. But since then, I would make sure that none of my clips/tracks were selected when making a tempo change. I'm not even certain that that was the issue but I haven't had the same error since.

Sonar won't change tempo unless it's instructed to. Could be a CC message from Battery.

This is what you need to do this happened to me once. Go to views select tempo. Here you may see that the tempo is changing in the measure. Now that this panel is open your will notice a +, -, properties, and Tempo list. This is on the left hand side top. Now press the tempo list and then you will see where it is changing click the tempo that is not correct and change the tempo using the number keys. Hope this helps you.

It sure wont! When I input a new tempo in the transport bar its only changing it for that beat...and in tempo view it wont allow me to 'select all' and change.  I'm def not going through and changing it beat by beat...thanks for the help anyhow :)

Select all in the track veiw-change tempo. If there's Midi data involved, open the event list for that errant measure and look fror the CC message that changes the tempo. Didn't you say it worked for all but one measure?

No...it only worked for one measure is what I meant.  But for some reason there's midi data changing the tempo to 120 in every bar and a couple changes to 150 that were manually entered by me.  Its ok though I scrapped that project and started a fresh one and it seems to be working.

\unfortunately with the amount of problems I've been having with this program though I think I'm going to switch.  There are too many bugs and flaws.

The bugs and flaws are mearly a lack of understanding of what's going on on the technical data side. You're going to have to figure it out whether you change DAW hosts or not.

Plus One to that. Don't get me wrong Scobrea, I'm sure Cubase is entirely capable, but Crg has a point there. Each of the high end DAWs, and I include X1 in that statement, all need a bit of patience while you learn all that you need to create your projects.

Would it be possible to make a copy of your project? The reason I say that is, if it is a large project, with the copy, you can delete the audio, which will not be causing the tempo change issue, and then save that and upload it somewhere. I will then have a look at it for you.

    cheers
