How does SLIDE affect track automations when changing the starting point into a song?

I generally start a song with 2 bars before the actual intro. Now that my song is complete I'd like to slide everything back to the beginning. I can "check" for the markers to slide,  but I don't see anything in the slide process that leads me to believe I will retain my track automations.

Is there a way to simply change the offset into the song without doing slide? I'm using X1 Expanded 64 bit.

Thanks.

    Why bother?

You're not going to gain anything by having your project start at 01:01:000

Leave it where it is and when you export, just highlight the duration of the project in the timeline.

Also, if you have any Midi tracks you'll avoid the situation where Sonar has a tendency to "choke" on the first few notes if they're right up at 01:01:000

    Thanks Bristol,
That's exactly what I've been doing, but I thought there must be an easier way than zooming in to the first measure to mark the start of highlighting then dragging to the end of a long track. I never start a track at 1:00:00 because of the "choking" on midi notes that you mentioned, but I would like the finalized song to start at about the 2nd beat of the first measure. I thought SLIDE should work, but I'm concerned that all my automations would no longer be in sync.

Try inserting 2 markers - one called 'start', one called 'end'. You can guess where to place them

Now, when you export, do a select all (ctrl + a), then go into markers view and drag across any other markers you might have so that your selection encompasses the Start & End marker

You should be good to go.

OK that sounds like a much better approach. I'm going to try that. Thanks.

I had posted this problem a few weeks ago in a slightly different version.  although there is a work around, it should be possible to delete a hole or slide a section without screwing up the automation.  I think this is a bug--a path the programmers did not anticipate properly.

I've just deleted a couple of bars at the beginning of a song, I checked all the options in the box, including Delete Hole and all the automation shifted with it.

The only thing that doesn't work is if you try and slide bus automation - that is definitely screwed.
