I don't know, really. Force of habit I guess, but I do. It aggravates the hell out of me fairly often, but it also works really well when I get a particular workflow down to a routine, which has somehow been possible most of the time, albeit maybe not always like I wanted. I never have glitches, artifacts, or dropouts as long as I work within the limits of my hardware. I think a lot of the problems people have are due to misunderstanding the limits of their hardware, believing very incorrectly that they should be able to fully utilize their processors. I'm a little surprised that Cake has never spoken to that, but I guess I see why.
I do wish it was more coherent and everything worked the same obvious, intuitive way. But X1 was a step toward that, at least at the surface. Looking forward to X2, though I haven't had the courage to read the details on it yet....
