NEW DRIVE FOR bfd

So i have a new Western Digital 500Gb 7200rpm SATA drive i am installing in my PC. A few years ago i recall there were 'master/slave' positions on a big ribbon cable. Do i need to make sure my BFD drive is on a 'master' cable? Or is this all legacy stuff that no longer applies? Yo!

If it's sata I'm pretty sure all that gets attached straight to the board these days.

Thanks Beepster. One more thing i just ran across... should i format as NTFS or FAT32. [Microsoft recommended NTFS for general use with Win7.]

Not sure. I think I did NTFS but it's all a blur now. I followed the NewEgg building guide. Here is the final installment about installing windows, configuring stuff and formatting drives. http://www.youtube.com/wa...6kyib-Ls&v=RxaVBsXEiok Mine system is working fine. You may want to try asking during the day when there are more smart dudes around. Cheers.
