Session Drummer Playback/ Windows sounds

I can push the play button on session drummer but when I go to load a midi loop it has a play button on the dialog box and it plays but I get no sound. So I guess it uses windows for playback inside a dialog box. Also I notice that once I open sonar I get no windows sounds until I reboot the computer. I'm using native instruments KA6. Any help appreciated, thanks. Expanded D 64bits.

If your PC has a built-in soundcard (most do these days), I would recommend that you enable it and then set Windows to use the built-in soundcard. Then set SONAR to ignore the built-in card and just use your main audio interface. That will prevent any conflicts.

Then I would need two sound systems...

Well maybe not, if I get a splitter they could both share the sound system, they don't use it at the same time...

    Thanks

OK, that's a good fix to get windows sounds working. And sound comes out when you audition midi loops in the dialog window but it's a piano... I think I need to install something like EZ or Addictive...

No you don't need to do that!

In your Browser, click on Media, then click Synth Preview Output and select Session Drummer from the list.

My loops playback through ASIO not windows so that's setup right.

You're saying don't open the loops in SD3 but in the browser?
