UC-33 now works in Ableton Live 32 and Cubase 64 in X1 (Solved)

Sonar X1 and Native Instrument's Komplete instruments in stand-alone mode do not even list the Evolution UC-33 as an available midi device. Yet within Ableton Live 8 (32) and Cubase 6 (64) it is not only listed and available, it functions perfect.

A faulty cable was recently connected to the UC-33 . That's what brought this on. Now remedied, it appears Sonar and N.I have in some way black-listed this device.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. Leonard

and, yes, the latest drivers for this device are installed. thx

Does it not even work when you have an X1 widget in "MIDI Learn" mode?

If by widget you mean having something like Z3ta loaded and in midi learn mode or having a midi track set with read and write enabled in "omni all" mode, twisting knobs on the UC-33 with those parameters set produces no input.

The same UC-33 was working fine in Sonar X1D 64 up until the USB cable shorted.

The OS is Win 7 64 SP1. Sonar X1D is installed 64 bit.

By "list", do you mean the list you've got available on a MIDI-track in a Sonar-project or the list in preferences -> MIDI -> devices ?

Maybe you can check if it's available in the preferences-list and re-check it?

The device is not present in: Preferences -> MIDI -> devices.

Then I close out Sonar then launch Cubase 6 AI and there it is in midi devices -active and fully usable. It's the same thing with Ableton Live 8. The UC-33 is there and it works perfect.

The same thing then happened to my Midisport 4X4.

Thanks to Sweetwater Tech support for solving this..
    Solution

Uninstall MAudio drivers. Use windows default driver instead.
