Sonar eulogy
Since Sonar X1d the metronome has been working excellently. What ever I want to record in what ever BPM is so simple now. instead of quantizing the heart out of my songs I can leave the quantize off and still get good results. I would like for X1's lifespan to be extended for atleast another year. Continue to work on X2...noo one is in a rush for X2 and I have enjoyed the advertisements sent to my inbox. Some interesting stuff you have there. Make some new instruments, Vsts, plugins for now get them to a high standard then think about giving us X2. As the saying goes, there is life in the old dog yet!

I'm afraid if it aint broke, don't try to upstage it! Read my post I was a great Studio One supporter, still am in many regards but Cake have definitely hit a home run with X1d. CAN THE REWRITE ACTUALLY BE BETTER? I seriously doubt it hope it's not one step forward twenty steps back! Unless they put problems in it so that we part with more money. Best thing for them to do is...

Studio One is the template that I personally think Sonar X1 followed. X1d is the closest to running like Studio One. Sonar is a close second in my opinion but a good second. If n When gapless is ackowledged and fewer mouse clicks initiated Brand Labelled X would have caught up some more to the new industry standard which I deem as being Studio one. I am sure many will disagree but as Studio One the growing product improves it definitely will be the DAW to copy in terms of being a leader in new developments e.g. ARA technology and I am sure they will be pushing for more new tech developments which will continue to lead the DAW world. Mark my words!

Make mine... Studio One specifically ripped off Ableton Live for that workflow. Presonus sure did not come up with that first... And its costing Presonus a bloody fortune to keep that daw going.. and the Studio One DAW isn't selling well. Dappa1 Mark my words!

I did not say that gapless audio was there Idea. ARA is a new feature adapted specifically for Studio One and melodyne. Other DAw companies will have to sign up to use that bit of Tech which I am sure most will do. Can I have the statistics for the sells of Studio One versus any other DAW you choose. Remember the economical climate may have some thing to do with it is that is true. No one can deny the editability of Studio One nor it's audio engine which is virtually second to none. Don't get me wrong X1 is a wonderful creation well X1d is. Just for the record (not to be an inside enemy) X1 is the best of the best! I will get me some friends now lol

For what it's worth there is not much difference between any DAW even Ableton Live which is a bit different. Cubase, Studio One and X1 all have similar functions! maybe they're minor differences in each but the same funstions are all there. Even logic pro has similar features! Good to have choice but no one DAW is miles better than another...

Why not? are you busy? The look and feel X1 stole the look and feel from Studio One although the cakewalk staff would strongly deny it and say that they rolled the look back to Project. I doubt it very much the look and feel of Studio One is solid and from what I have seen of X2 there is still room for improvement. A more bold look is needed in sonar and the Control Bar seems unfinished. I hope that this will be changed a remodeled control bar would be great more like PT control bar would be a fantastic improvement. A floating tool bar would be a great edition too as you could utilize some space or even a floating edit button that you can make appear and disappear whenever you need it.

but then you don't know about the interface being intro'd in "home studio" if your saying that.. which was out a fair bit longer , probably a year + ? I'm waiting on bit wig to come out also (ex ableton employee's involved) , since ableton couldn't deliver my product within 3 weeks!!!

As the saying goes, there is life in the old dog yet! Hey Dappa1... Once they decided that X2 would be released in the Fall of 2012 months and months ago, X1 was already history. A lot of us would like to see more improvements and work done with X1 but that isn't in Cakewalks best interest. X1 will be left AS IS and buggy to some extent but X2 will give it new life whenever you or I are ready to upgrade. It's X1 but improved and will require a purchase then an install. But yes, it's true that X1 could have been rock solid as possible if they wanted it to be that way but they wanted to move forward with a new version. The good news is that they only ask for an Upgrade fee for those who already own X1. So X1 is really not dead by no means, just further expanding through X2.
