Mom's Imaginary Aquabus all in XId - Cool

Hi,

I know we are off to X2 - This post is for those visitors contemplating on changing to Sonar and want some practical yet simple feedback/info.  Note: I mic everything and play rock - real drums, bass, guitars and keys (well almost!). I like to work fast and needed an interface with great file management and comping tools:

Here is what I liked

1) track comping.  Insert a zillion layers and easily erase the parts that suck.  I know this is a given, but coming from Adobe Audition, it was a great welcome.  Was able to track real quick.
2) File management is great, again Audition is wacky with file mgmt and asked a million confusing questions when closing a session.
3) Simple Instrument is great - I'm not a midi-person, but if you need a simple stereo real instrument track, this was very cool and extremely easy to use.  i/e. you can easily set up a piano to help you comp vox to be on key w/o hooking up hardware!
4) Pro Channel LA2A and Soft Tube were tools often used.
5) Overall flexibility is great.  After you settle down and spend time with the program, you can configure it the way you want.
6) Bussing is super easy - create a drum bus and use the LA2A on the bus! I had to remix a couple of tunes after I downloaded the LA2A because I liked it so much.  Volume envelopes on the drum bus were great as was viewing the look of the wave file on the master bus in real time.
7) Screen sets = awsome.
8) Ton's of tools within your reach to color and edit your basic rock tracks within the track view.  The system is deep enough to grow into.

Yes - a few slight display quirks and a resolved issue that occurred everytime I clicked in the master bus in console view, it crashed.  I believe it had to do with a leftover midi file from a  real instrument track that was deleted.  Once I deleted the mid file track, the crashing never came back. However, nothing is perfect and I was able to crank out my first solo record ever rather quickly and efficiently.  By the way, I'm using a 3 year old creation station with XP 32 bit and no performance issues.

Below is the album produced if you wanna listen.  Hope this helps a make a decision.
