Guitar Rig will randomly stop working.

Still trialing X1. My New problem: I have a synth track with Guitar Rig 5 in the fx bin. The effect is turned on, sound is going through, everything is hunky dory. Every now and then, while playing with clips in the track (recording, looping, playback, editing etc), the sound will just stop going through Guitar Rig. It's still there in the fx bin, it's turned on, but there is nothing going through it (i.e. the meters in Guitar Rig are showing nothing, and the sound is dry). Turning it on and off doesn't work. Deleting it and putting it back doesn't work. The only thing that works is restarting Sonar. So frustrating! Does anyone have any idea of what might be going on? It's not CPU overload, this is a very light tune and the Guitar Rig CPU is at 6% or so.

    The Guitar Rig is unregistered?
If it's the one that came with SONAR, it needs to be registered, too, but I have no idea of how it works with trial-versions. Maybe you can't register it when using a trial version??

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

    Hi sharke,

If you are trialing GR5, it only runs for 30 minutes at a time.

The trial version of X1 comes with GR4, and I think you can register that with Native Instruments. The reason I don't know for sure is I went for Guitar Rig 5 without bothering with 4.

    cheers

sharke, I've had this happen too with GR5. It seems really random. I uninstalled the LE versions that come with SONAR, and it hasn't happened in a while. But I won't know if that really fixed it until I give it more time. That would be a little too easy.

Does the trial version of X1 come with Guitar Rig 4? I haven't seen it anyway.
This must be a Sonar related problem because it never happened for me in Pro Tools (the CPU would choke first, but that's Pro Tools for you).
It's not as if this problem is much of a deal breaker re: Sonar X1, given that the solution is a simple restart...coming from Pro Tools, the Sonar load time is sooooo much faster

    Ah, okay.

I must admit that, even though I've purchased and registered GR5 too, I'm jumping around that much trying to learn so many things at once that I can't honestly say that I have come close to pushing GR5 to its limits. It must be an annoying issue, all the same and I hope you get it sorted.

    cheers
