Snoop's 1st Reggae track

Snoop's 1st Reggae track I've heard.. just found it tonight.. Very interesting..  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2DPbGEkX4I

what do you guys think of the music and the production?  I'm really digging Snoops vocal..  but the production...  its not blowing my mind.  this backup singer is wicked!  she is a discovery..  her solo album should be marketed...

this producer..  i dunno.. I'm not impressed..  what do you think of the production?

cheers

It's..OK. Not really sure about the cod-Jamaican accent, but hey, Sting and UB40 made careers out of it..

well..  reaggae to me implies traditional instruments..  this is more like, "reaggae-hop"

UB40 made a killing yep, and imo, Snoop has nailed this vocal.. he's smooth as ever with it

I'm so glad you posted this... I kept forgetting to search it out.

I'm not a huge fan of rap, but certain artists stick out for me, and Snoop has always been one of them.  I also listen to all kinds of reggae-- not just roots-- and this certainly qualifies, and I like how he's mixing it up with more hip hop and dubstep. This is sorta trip reggae, and I love it.  The girl IS fabulous.  My pipe-dream job is back up reggae singer... But I'm so white, mon.

PS, the mix sounds better on Spotify.

Actually, the more I listen, the more I like it, even...

As faux Jamaican it was OK for me.

The production seemed OK too.

Jovi Rockwell was the best thing about the whole song. And what sounded like timbales was kinda cool.

I'll not run out and buy it though.

You reckon those are snare drums, but they are just tuned real tight?
