Jammer 6

I used to use Jammer a long time ago...

Anyone using it with 64bit X1 and win7?

They have a drummer program too...

I forgot, what is mfx?

It's still native to X1?

I tried several times to get SoundTrek's Drummer to work in 64bit Sonar for the last two or three years, and it does not work.  I have asked for help with this on this forum and no one seemed to use it.  I even contacted SoundTrek about its problem in 64bit apps and the reply was that it did not work with 64bit.  Having said all of that, there is a new 64bit wrapper (dxshell.....and mfvshell...etc..) that is link to in this thread:  http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2635980 .   I posted yesterday on that thread it about SoundTrek Drummer but haven't received any responses.  Here is the direct link to the 64bit wrapper:  http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/printview.php?t=177538&start=0 .  Let me/us know if you get it working and how you did that.

My work around was to use SoundTrek Drummer in the 32bit version of Sonar--it works fine there.  Record the midi and the audio to a track, then copy the resulting created audio drum track over into 64bit Sonar.  However, this is such an inconvenience (since I have been using Sonar 64bit for a couple of years now) that I just don't bother anymore.  I ended up buying Jamstix a year or so ago and when I need to I use a program to create drum midi tacks, I use it--Jamstix is a similar program to SoundTrek's Drummer, although probably more diverse.  Several people around here use Jamstix and it works in 64bit apps.

Sorry not to have better advice.  Good luck getting it to work or finding help with SoundTrek support on this one.

    I was afraid of that.

I don't know, Jammer might not be all that I remember.

    Getting pretty old.

I could just install the 32 bit version alongside the 64bit without any problems?

    Thanks

Yes, a number of people run both 32bit and 64bit versions of Sonar.  It is a good work-around for some older plugins.  If you do this, then you would load the SoundTrek Drummer from the Sonar 32bit midi FX panel/area in the track view or in the inspector.  Play around with it and see if you can live with going back and forth from Sonar 32bit to Sonar 64bit; I lived with it for a while, but then just moved over to Jamstix.  I did just last week try again to get SoundTrek Drummer working using the 64bit wrapper, but no luck for me.  Good luck, and do report back, please.

BTW, I would send a request to SoundTrek for 64bit version.  If they are serious, they need to come up with a 64bit version or they will be soon overlooked by many who are going exclusively 64bit.  I sent them my request for this, but they said that they had no immediate plans to issue a 64bit version; that was a couple of years ago--they really should get on board sooner rather than later.

    Good luck.
