Do you guys think Sonar is going to work on Windows 8 tablets?

I'm considering Jamaica or something..  at the end of the year...  quite possibly late jan or feb

I'm curious to know..  Will Windows 8 tablets run the Metro and Desktop situations of Windows 8, and do you reckon Sonar, and my other software's would run strong enough to do a little recording..   if I actually go to Jamaica..  and if I run into some sort of music situation....

or do you think I need to purchase a Laptop...   Right now all I've got is a desktop..   I do know of a Hewlett Packard laptop that is not too expensive, that would be perfect...   but since I'd be traveling....

mmm...  tablet is damn tempting.

I've considered the iPad..  but I am not interested.

So..  Will windows tablets run Sonar and other stuff like that?

Cheers

too many lasers...

Sonar will work on Intel based Tablets. There most likely won't be a metro version of Sonar until the spec allows midi and VST plugins.

Hi

From what I saw, it should be possible with the PRO model,
the basic one runs a ARM processor, so Sonar is not compiled for that,

the pro version has an ivy-bridge dual core i5... we used to make albums on much less than that ;)

Cheers!

yeah ...it should be powerful enough but...

I would seriously consider having a keyboard, as Sonar is so keyboard-centric...
and that new Metro, and whole new app-centric M$ is going to with tablets somehow scares me..

and while having a tablet with a keyboard, why not have a laptop ?

Sonar X1 does not like touchscreen too much (faders does not work well with touch)
X2 promises to fix that (once Windows 8 is out so I red here on the forum).

So a 11 inch macbook air with Windows 7 might be an interesting solution.
or as you liked HP, they also do a 12 inch elitebook that has a up to a dual core i7,
(and are more equipped in IO than the macbook air)

Dell also has pretty slick little laptops that sometimes go for very little money when the right sale occurs. I just bought a 17 inch Vostro with i7 to run Sonar on, I returned a HP for this one, and do not regret it.....

Cheers!

IMHO, I don't think a tablet is going to be powerful enough for Sonar.

The MS Surface Pro tablet and the new Lenovo Thinkpad 2 tablet would run Sonar no problem.

But yea youre probably better off with one of the new touchcreen ultrabooks that coming out late October.
