Just for the fun of it.... Max track count at 44.1 24bit....

So...

You have a DAW. Now what's the maximum track count you can play back for 4 minutes?


Please state processor, memory and OS disk and playback disk...

Cakewalk Sonar Platinum Windows 7 32bit & 64bit (dualboot) Gigabyte mobo Intel dual quad 9650 & 4GB Ram RME DIGI9636 & Tascam DM24.  M-audio Rbus & SI-24 Alesis Pro active 5.1 & Radford 90 transmissionline monitors. Roland RD-150 piano Edirol UM-880 & alesis fireport.

    I don't even dream of having time to try. As long as it runs with the present tracks - fine.
    I assume you mean audio mono tracks? It's a very essential thing to define.

    I have no idea. The doubt I ever go over 24 for my needs. I am using an i7-2630QM 2.0 Ghz with 16gb or ram. Both disk drives are 7200rpm. I'm sure I have done in the 20's as far as tracks with no hiccups.

    600 to 5,000 tracks. It just depends whats on each track

    24 should be the max track count for any project. Everyone knows that "24" is the key to salvation! ;-)

    Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.
