"THE END" (Doors cover) {dance rock/techno}
"LA FIN" - dance rock/techno demo. if Jim Morrison is actually dead and not on some deserted island somewhere, he's probably rolling over in his grave, or maybe just laughing lol - I left out the Oedipal sequence ;p vocals are placed rather far back to let the dance beats & guitar be the leader here. also this is up on my server as not to violate soundcloud TOS. http://www.MediumRangeIntelligence.com/The_End.mp3 Lyrics by Jim Morrison. Music by The Doors. vocals, guitars, bass, loops & samples by me a JM sample on here too floating like a ghost in the soundscape This is the end Beautiful friend This is the end My only friend, the end Of our elaborate plans, the end Of everything that stands, the end No safety or surprise, the end I'll never look into your eyes........again Can you picture what will be So limitless and free Desperately in need of some stranger's hand In a......... desperate land

A real treat. Turn a known song on it's head side or stomach I say. Thanks for sharing that Daren. I loved it.

Wow, that's about as original as a cover can get. That would have JM dancing on his grave. Your versatility is awesome as well as your creativity. There is nothing cookie cutter about you. You should be producing full time for the stars, whoever they are right now. Way to go, Daren.

Interesting - I enjoyed that. I'm a huge Doors fan - got to see them in 1968 and visited Jim's grave a couple of years ago when I was in Paris. Well done.

Man that's great..... very original. Is it my system, if it is I'm worried, but it seems very left hand speaker heavy??

thanks Bapu, Lynn, Mark, Stinga, James, GR, & Daryl! this was kinda fun recording project. Like Bapu said, turn a classic on its head side or stomach. I'm a huge Doors fan too, Mark, and have also been to Pére Lachaise. Probably one of the most interesting graves I've ever been to. The 60's are still going on all around it lol. Jim was a genius poet/singer without parallel-

STinGA Man that's great..... very original. Is it my system, if it is I'm worried, but it seems very left hand speaker heavy?? hey thanks for pointing this out STinGA - it's an issue i have often as i have a hearing deficit in my left ear. Lynn pointed that out too on 'Helicopter Head' in this case, i've now re-listened a few times, also on headphones with them reversed on opposite ear. it's not as apparent on my VUs but there is a left heaviness i think; the vox is right centered, and there is some guitar doodling panned right ( i also wanted to leave some headroom on right to hear the Jim Morrison's "the blue bus" vocal sample that floats around, but the heavy distortion guitar chordal rhythm pocket may be overtaking things left-pan-ly a bit. i also have a heavy gated digital pingpong pan delay L-R oscillation on another guitar that balances the mix more in speakers, but in headphones i think i can see what you are hearing.

Nice job, your version sounds good btw. I also have a hearing deficit in my left ear.. I've adjusted my monitor speakers volume to balance by listening some mono sounds with different frequencies. That helps me to listen to mix-work

cool/ thanks Makke- I do the mono trick too sometimes but in this case there is a lot of stereo imaging and fx so i was winging it a bit in terms of my left ear deficit. i don't think it's that egregious but it's noticeable now to me when i reverse earbuds. Morrison was kinda lopsided as is myself so maybe it's all good ;p
