Cannot drag wav file to an audio track

Does anyone no why I can drag a wav file that has a Bit Rate of 1411kbps onto an audio track without any problems but when I try to drag a wav file with a Bit Rate of 2116Kbps it seems to create some kind of event (the undo option says it's an event) but doesn't insert the wav file?

can you copy it and paste it? that's normally how I move things....

but inside a project, if I split a clip out of a track..... I can easily click it and drag it.

BE SURE the track is in CLIP mode and not volume/automation. If you have been working on volume automation envelopes that could be the reason it will not drag..... I have run into that myself. One of the quirks of X1.

If the "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp" option is selected in "Edit > Preferences > File - Audio Data", an imported "Broadcast Wave" file will not appear at the Now Time on the selected track; it will appear at the timestamp embedded in the file. So you could try unselecting that option.

Thanks bvideo, it was the "Always Import Broadcast Waves At Their Timestamp" option causing the problem!
