Midi problem

Hi,
I just downloaded the SONAR X1 producer in search of a good music composer to buy.
I seem to have a bit of problem with X1.. When I play back midi there is no sound at all. I also can't see
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth drivers on the list.
I know they work cause I have Forte 3 premium music software and it works without a problem. It didn't even need a setup to work. It was all automatic.

So can someone help me please..Why Sonar doesn't see my device ?

Thanks in advance

Also you don't want to use the gs synth. Use the ones that came with X1 You have to set up something to make sound like a VSTinstrument then send your midi track to it in order to hear it.

If that means you're using MS  Wavetable Synth it's not alright :o) It's the crappiest tool you can find. Use the softsynths that come with SONAR. You can not get any picture of SONARs capabilities if you criticise it's MIDI-performance based on what you hear through the Wavetable. You can not even bounce it normally!

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

    go to preferances,select your ports.
turn off your other programs running midi
should run fine(if other resouces are grabbing the port first)
    update your MS drivers.
