Using a button on BCR2000 as shift for ASC?

I'm currently setting up one of my BCR2000 as an ACT controller and that's going fine, but I can't get ACT to recognize a button on the BCR as a shift button.

I've read that the ACT shift only accepts a note on/off as shift, so I've setup a button on my BCR to send a note, and assigned that as the shift control, but it doesn't work.

If I use a note from my keyboard it works fine.

Has anyone here got a button on their BCR to work as shift?

EDIT: Figured it out, so in case anyone else wants to do this.

You need to set the  button as toggle on/off on the BCR, not momentary and you can set it as a CC, it doesn't have to be a note value

Just set the min to 0 and max to 127, toggle to on, and whatever CC# you want and it works a treat.
