HURRICANE WARNING!
Just got word from the weather service. They are at this moment predicting a direct hit. Going to help evacuate and tie down everything that can blow away. NOT GOOD!

Will be thinking of you. I hope it comes in the the east of you. I was listening to a radio interview with Joe Bastardi of Weatherbell. He disagrees with most of the forecasts and says that the water is much too warm in the gulf and the storm is really big. He suggests that since the gulf has been inactive that the warm water should concentrate the storm to a Cat 4 or 5. He says that it could easily turn into another Katrina and even has the track hitting just west of NOLA.. so keep a close watch. http://www.weatherbellmodels.com/weather/# look at the map in the middle and mouse overthe forecast hours to the left of the map. I hope I spelled it right, laff. He was saying this on the 24th when no one else was. He seems to know his stuff... time will tell I guess. J

offnote hold on! I actually have pictures of me (slides to be perfectly accurate) in that exact same position except the wave is causing me to be sideways not my muscles. There's also a slide that shows me and the pole completely gone as a large wave pulled it out of the ground (cemented three feet in too!). The authorities arrived around then to tell everyone to evacuate immediately as the high-tide was coming in (we thought we were in the high-tide, but we were only in a "sheltered" parking lot. This happened in Kusadasi Turkey in 1981 during the aftermath of a VERY large storm that hit the whole Aegean Sea area (this was one stop on a seven day cruise through the Grecian Islands). When the high tide finally did come in they cleared a bluff that had to be at least 20 feet high and we saw two people get slammed high into a cliff by a wave - doubt they made it... Being on the cruise ship during the storm is another story in itself!
