    Hi,

Bunch of idiots! ... they don't even mention "Progressive" or "Rap" (per Strummy!). And a lot of "Progressive" has a much longer and better known history than one third of those listings! And gads ... Gil Scott Heron was doing rap in 1968 and you can see it in the movie "Performance".

Pedro, they don't mention 'Rap' either.

I think that to be perfectly fair, you should complain about that too.

BTW... according to them I am Indie Blues Rock with a bit of Acoustic and Country. I like to play blues rock but almost everything I write comes out country and I don't listen to country. It is weird.

I think I should put together a group and we can call ourselves the Strange Sound Random Band.  Then, when someone asks us what our genre is, we can answer with something like "Peanut Butter."  That'll mess them up, ya?

I think this is the result of a commercial ideal and what music is supposed to sound like. And, maybe, sometimes, a DAW!

The 60's and most of the 70's, and eventually a lot of the music that became known as "progressive", was about everything BUT the styles or ideas, and least of all ... that "people understand" ... to the point that even Syd Barrett had a famous line in the bootlegs that said ... "... people have stood, and cheered, something they did not understand!"

Most of the European scenes stuck to the "art" of it all, because they have more art history than America ... and doing something "different" is better appreciated than here ... where everyone has to do the same thing and be named in the top ten ... for anyone to consider it ... "good".

And it has been one of my main concerns, just so you kow, that the Progressive Boards, have not, and will not, consider the scenes in NY, SF and LA progressive ... because they did not last ... and yet, they were, by far, the greates inspiration to so many ... when it came to doing something "different".

Pop music was not going to do "Sweet Jane" or "Heroin" ... and that is a problem with the social milieu that is afraid of the artists because they can speak their minds off ... and Europe has a massive history of this ... in America? ... just like the Coffee House .. you bury it in the "politically incorrect" bullmerde!

I'll have to go back to Brazil to get Beagle and the folks here some real Becan ... like Boa Becan ... Black Widow Leg Becan (tastes like Frog Legs!) ... but the thought might get a lot of people ... squeamish.

It used to be fun ... you see one of those Boa's ate a whole calf, and they go to sleep for 3 days, because they could not move ... so, in that time, the Boa became the Steak Burger for every one ... chop chop chop ... dinner is served!
