Double sustain pedal events Sonar 8.5

Hi guys,

Whenever I record midi keyboard through Sonar (I'm using a Roland XV88 connected through an Audiophile USB interface), all the notes I play get recorded accurately, but for some reason all the sustain pedal events seem to be duplicated.  As in, if I go to an events list, there will be two pedal depress events with the same timestamp, and likewise for the pedal release events.

Most of the time this doesn't cause issues, but it's annoying sometimes.

Does anybody have an idea of how I might fix this?

Thanks so much,
Adrian

Sounds like you might have a MIDI echo issue.  I think there is a MIDI echo setting somewhere in the Options pull-down (sorry, I'm not in front of my DAW right now).  The other hardwire way to check it is to disconnect your MIDI OUT cable from your interface and try recording again.  If you don't get the double events, then you know it was a echo or loop problem.

Make sure you turn local off on the XV88.

    Hey Guys,

I am having the same problem except I am, not having 2, but 3 pedal events recorded each time.  I find it very annoying especially when I am editing the score.  I am using sonar 3.11 and the Yamaha DGX-505, which is connected to the PC via USB.

I am really hoping there is a solution for this.

    Thanks

Did you turn local off on the keyboard?
