Vinyl emulations

Hey guys,
I tried to download izotope's vinyl plugin and its not working. What would be another free plug that does the samething (or a technique within sonar I could use to get various amounts of vinyl like imperfections)

Thanks in advance :)

I don't know of another vinyl simulation plugin and I'm sure there probably are plenty, do a search over on kvraudio.com

but what's not working on izotope's vinyl?  it works fine for me.

in case you don't know I think the "warp" function only works on the DX version not the VST (though it may be the other way around). At least that's how it used to be....

That's too bad it's not working for you... I've tried a few others over the years but Vinyl definitely usually allows me to dial in a good "old crappy record on a cheap player" sound really quickly. Good luck and if you find a good alternative please post it here, I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.

It seems I remeber a long time ago I had to shut down the computer and re-boot before the plug in started working. I can't swear to it but I do remember it not working when I installed. I got frustrated with it and shut down and went to bed. When I booted the next time it had come to life.

I don't know it. Try vinyl dreams from retrosamling.

I've tried several. Short of using the Vinyl plug in which should work your best bet is to get some samples from vinyl and use those. Random drum hits here and there can really do the trick. Otherwise they make sample libraries that sound like vinyl hits. My favorite is the Disco School Reason Refill.
