Sony has a bunch on its website. There are many others that I've accumulated over the years. Some free some purchased. I have all my impulses stores on my sample drive. For default locations you could explore the Perfect Space folder or the Cakewalk contents folder.

try "impulse response files" in google. You should get a bunch of hits for sites with IR files.

IF you click on the file folder in the top left corner PS will take you to its impulse folder. From there you can navigate. There are tons of impulses out there. Try voxengo. The SONY impulses that come w/ acousstic mirror are in a native format not wave. I don't know if the ones onsite are wave or not. @

Definitely quite a few free and/or pay for impulse response libraries/collections/individual files out on the internet. I've collected quite a few over the years for both room and cabinet simulation. I've gotten some good ones in the various drum product group buys that ESoundz did in the past with their Drum Masters and Ocean Way series, but I've also found a bunch of worthwhile free collections as well. Everything from real rooms to imaginary spaces are available - search and ye shall find.

Thanks for the replies. I did try to load the ones included in Sonar, but now when I click on the envelope with the turned down corner, the file is empty. I have looked all over my computer but I can't find them, must have been overwritten when I tried some other impulses. Alan

Forum member "Zo" pointed me to an awesome site that had incredible impulse files from an Eventide 3000,and LOTS of them, but I cant remember the place now. After that I didn't feel the need to look elsewhere, but I'm sure there are others with similar[just wish I could bloody remember!] With the stock files I wasn't that into Perfect Space, but after dwnlding the E3000 ones, I think its a pretty awesome tool to be included with a daw,in fact for the money X1 has got to have the most usefull tools out of all of them, although Logic 9 going from $900 to $199 seems pretty good if you have the ridiculous money for a mac[especially here!] Bob

Pragi Hi Asimmd, here is a link to some very good "Bricasti m 7" reverb impulse responses. The bricasti reverb is one of the highest quality reverbs (hardware )today. http://www.samplicity.com/bricasti-m7-impulse-responses/ +1 on Samplicity The conventional wisdom on convolvers is that the main ones produce more or less comparable results, so the difference is to go for quality rather than quantity on the impulses. I don't know about that, but I was happy enough with Perfect Space that I bought its big brother, Pristine Space from Voxengo and I use that one. In addition, I bought the T600 and L96 Samplicity impulses from Peter Roos and have been more than happy with them. Didn't know about these free Bricasti ones! I just nabbed those. Thanks for the tip.

The default location for PS bundled IRs is program files\cakewalk\vstplugins\perfect space. If you've somehow deleted them you can reinstall SONAR and get them back. The IRs you get with PerfectSpace are quite serviceable, but it's fun to collect them from around the web. Voxengo's got a few free ones here. Noisevault is another good source. I have hundreds of IRs in my collection, but haven't been out looking much over the last couple of years, having returned to algorithmic 'verbs for most applications. PS is a fine plugin, but a) it's not a true stereo effect and b) it's a CPU hog (as all convolution reverbs are).
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Downloaded the Samplicity and Rhythyminmind files. Such a lot to go through but the few I have tried are superb. Just need an Impulse Response for a Meazzi Echo now, doubt I will find one. Thanks Alan

I see sinX divided by X but have no idea what the rest is all about. I'm curious but guessing ... T is Temp, fs is freq, t is time and n is an interger somewhere between plus and minus infinity Not very likely a good guess however.
