Superb!
You'll not have much trouble making them sound nice if that's how the sound on the camera mic in the garage.
You've got enough ability to get some tracks down too!

I can play a little drums .....  I'll be practicing mic placement next week when I get a snake and get the garage cleaned out fully ....

Yeah, Mooch don't pitch the cymbals like that unless you want to hide stupid face. In order that they don't sound like you are peeing in an alleyway when you are playing them, you want them so they are pitch as near as right angles to where your natural strike will hit them full on, then just high enough so a little arm adjustment is all that's required to play the surfaces or bells. IOW lower them some and pitch them nearer to the horizontal. There's many sounds you can get from them starting from a good basis and experimenting with how and where you strike them. For a crash it's normally a good strike to the edge you are after for example. Pish, poosh, ting, ting, dong....clanggg! There you are I've just given you your homework for the day.
