Auto-Fading when clips appear?

Hello, is there any possibility in sonar 8.3 to automatically (without using an envelope) fade out a music track (for example), when a clip in another track is reached (for example speech) and fade it in again, when the speech-clip has passed? Regards, Rontrus

You could try using a gate.

The Sonitus is quite good for this sort of thing, but the fade out/in wouldn't be anything like as smooth as what you could accomplish with an envelope.

Why don't you want to use an envelope? This would take less than a minute to set up.

AFAIK regular sidechaining is used for that, but as I've never done it myself I let the more experienced take care of the details.
