Can't Play Project

I've been working with a project and all of a sudden when I try to play it, nothing happens. I tried using the mouse and keyboard. The playback timing master is set correctly. Other projects play fine. Any help would be appreciated.

did you hit the mute or drag the master outputs to the bottom by accident or accidentally re-route the signal to a dead end?

I have accidentally done this a few times. I rebooted the entire system and then opened a different project...which played fine..... a closer look found the problem.

    It's a duhhhhh moment.

Do you mean no sound or nothing on the screen moves?

If nothing is moving, could you accidentally either be in external sync mode (check preferences | project), or have Loop on (with a very short loop, like 1:1:0 and 1:1:60)?

When you say the master timing is set correctly, if that means you are for sure using the internal clock, then that eliminates the first possibility and loop is my only thought.

Thanks for the replies. The last thing I was doing was moving clips around. When I try to play, there's no movement or sound.

That can be because your audio interface is not connected.
Or it could be that your ASIO buffers are too low or your WDm slider is set to low.

We still need allot more info as it can be 1,000 different things.

list your pc specs, audio interface and its settings. This will give a better picture as to whats going on

Restarting/rebooting doesn't help. I noticed that when I try to arm a track, all the track record buttons turn grey and when I switch to a different screenset, all the record buttons look normal again.

It happened again. I armed a track and playback stopped working. The only way to make playback work again is to disarm the track. Any fix for this yet?

Have you thought about daveny5 and CJaysMusic's replies? Could be http://www.cakewalk.com/D...ooting.05.html#1158761 but it is hard to tell.

Above from what i said above, If you even read it, since you never responded to it, you could have the AUTO PUNCH enabled.
