Two questions before I upgrade...[dropped features & beta-testing]

Two questions that I hope the Cakewalk guys can chime in on:

1. I've watched the webinar and have been reading about the new features and tools in X2 and they all look great.  However, I'm sure that many of us recall being pretty ticked off about some of the unexpected changes when X1 was released, particularly the loss of separate TV and PRV snap settings when X1 was initially released, a bad move that was remedied several months later.  I really don't want any more of those types of surprises.  So, what features or tools currently in X1 have been removed from X2?  Are there any tools that we currently take for granted in our daily workflow that will be lost?  I've already noted that there will be no more official support for XP and that Guitar Rig LE has been dropped in lieu of Overloud TH and I'm fine with those.  But, are there any undisclosed streamlining "surprises" in store that we should be aware of?

2. How was the beta-testing program improved, if at all, compared to the release of X1?  I just want to be confident, should I decide to be an early adopter, that Cakewalk made some honest attempts to improve the beta-testing and minimize the risk that X2 v1.00 will be released full of show-stopping bugs.

Thanks!

I've been wrong before but I would be truly surprised if any specific answers will be given to these questions.

    Generalities, yes.

1st Example: We have not removed any features or functions although we have moved and improved functionality based upon user requests.

2nd Example: We believe our beta testers have improved in their depth of knowledge based on their previous experience with X1.

In my days of software development these are the types of answers I would provide customers who paid anywhere from $200K to $1.2M in base products from us. It's probably the most in depth one may still get today, IMHO.

That's cool, but the only stupid questions are the ones not asked, right?

Besides, I give Cakewalk more credit for their openness in answering these types of questions than I give to other software companies, so I'm willing to bet that one of them will give a satisfactory response.

Agreed. Hope you did not interpret my response as implying your questions were stupid.

As I said, I've been wrong before. So I hope they give more in depth answers too.

I don't think anyone on this forum can give you an honest answer on this one.

It really smacks of "how the hell should we know?", in the nicest possible way of course!

There was nothing in the Webinar to suggest any existing feature would be removed, apart from as already noted, support for XP & Vista based systems and the removal of Guitar Rig.
