midi repeating notes...help!

I also posted this in the hardware section, but not sure whether I'm doing something wrong from the X1 interface so here goes....

I use midisport 8x8 which is usb to the pc. I use it primarily now as an interface for my two keyboards: a desktop keyboard and a full size keyboard. Desktop keyboard is inputting at ch 8 and full size on ch 2. I've set sonar to receive and send on all channels so all should be well. Normally I can play on any one track from both keyboards. Suddenly my full size keyboard is repeating the notes, so I play a note and it is immediately followed by the same note again with sustain on. Really need my full size keyboard for this jazz project so any help gratefully accepted
Jill

    It's probably echoing back.

Turn of "Local Mode" on your keyboard

I use the MOTU 8x8 128,so basicly same unit, and yes that is a delay slap back(turn off your MIDI Recieve on the keyboard you are inputing from(while recording.)you can also do this via the Inspecter strip out put.
Assign your keyboards seperate ports, take them off omni and dedicate channel numbers to each .
    hope tthis helps.

Depends on how you like to work. Some like to turn local control off on the keyboard so when you play the keyboard you get no sound unless you bounce the midi back from the DAW. Or not, then you have to make sure you're not sending the midi back when you don't mean to.
