Will there be a simple list of function changes for X2?

Seeing as how most things look like they'll pretty much stay the same I'd rather not have to plow through the entire manual or a bunch of tuts just to get at the basic function changes like key bindings, menu changes, name changes... stuff like that. Example: "In X1 you did Y to achieve X - In X2 you do Z to achieve X" Just a quick reference limited to all the ACTUAL changes. It would be very handy and make the transition much smoother I think. Cheers.

A list other than the Readme and the chapter in the manual "New Features in SONAR X2"?

@scook... Possibly. I haven't experienced a version upgrade yet. I just plopped my butt down on X1 which was a major overhaul so obviously things were a lot more... uh, more-ish. If it's standard procedure for them to detail it somewhat like I described then that's cool. Just wasn't sure and really am not wanting to constantly get stumped while I'm trying to do stuff I've already learned.

There is a readme.rtf issued with every version of SONAR that is overwritten by each patch release. Check you program files Cakewalk SONAR X1 Producer directory for an example.
Each time a new version is released the manual/online help contains a chapter discussing the changes, you will see an example in your X1. That is about all there is.

Well that'll do. Like I said... first version change. Just trying to prepare myself for what's coming. Thanks.

Actually it'd be nice if they let us prepaying customers download the manual before hand.

Does anyone know if the Play List feature is still in X2?

Beepster - I know you already have a lot of reading material, I've been watching your buying frenzy.
Cody - The Play List view has not been mentioned anywhere that I know of, but I would bet it is still there.

@scook... lol. Yup. Pretty weighed down at the moment but I only have one more major purchase to make now and that's a proper keyboard controller. Considering I managed to get my friggen' padKontrol figured out (mostly) I'm sure that will be easy in comparison. Frankly I'm stunned I've managed to do all this in such a short time with such a limited budget. Starving oneself works I guess... but I don't recommend it. ;-)

And I think I've managed okay as far as learning all this stuff as it came into my possession. I just made sure I gave myself a crash course on the basics of everything I bought as soon as I received it. I was relentless until I could get some functionality out of a purchase before moving on. Those Absolute Beginners threads I posted did have a somewhat selfish motivation behind them... as in I'd look like an idiot if I didn't get the bleeding things working... well more of an idiot anyway. It kept me motivated and so many people stopped in to help which was awesome.

I'm sure there is at least some nutritional value in circuitry and plastic.

There will be some changes but nothing like the differences from 8.5 to X1. In the past when a new version comes out there is often a bunch of new stuff to try out and or learn. It is done at ones leisure and I doubt you will feel overwhelmed by X2. Take your time and enjoy finding all the cool new stuff.

Help is just a forum post away too.

    Best
