Export function in X1d crashes Sonar
I'm running x1d on Windows 7 64-bit, Delta Audiophile 2496, ASIO. When I select a track or clip and select file, export audio, Sonar immediately crashes. I reinstalled my audio card driver, uninstalled everything unneeded, and restarted. No better. Anyone know what's going on?

Crashes like this are usually due to a bad driver, bad hardware, or a soft synth playing up. Try to eliminate as much as possible - then what you're left with is probably the cause.

Unchecking "[x] Fast Bounce" option in Export window may also help.

More problem shooting: bounce any AudioSnap, V-Vocal, Groove Clips. Freeze synths, bypass plugins. Increase extra plugin buffers.

panup Unchecking "[x] Fast Bounce" option in Export window may also help. Actually, I can't get to the export window. It crashes as soon as I click "audio..." on the File/Export menu. Dave

Martyn UK I have had this happen. It worked when I froze the tracks Good Luck It crashes even if I start with a blank project, no plugins at all, even just recording the Sonar metronome to a track. Dave

Try alternative audio driver? Disable all sounds and drivers in Control Panel/Sounds. Is there some other program using sound driver?

I've seen this problem. It seems to come in spurts. I don't have one specific thing I do to fix it, but one thing that sometimes works is saving the project to another directory. That sometimes works. The problem comes and goes, seemingly randomly.

I've run into this and I've determined that the crashes have been caused by the older 32-bit plug-ins (for example, the KJaerhus Compressor seems to cause my system to crash on the export.) I replaced it with the Sonitus Compressor and it doesn't crash. I'm in the process of cleaning up all my plug-ins and weeding out the problematic ones, but its not so easy to do. Every time Sonar crashes, I either have to reboot or kill the SONARPDR.EXE process which usually takes 5 minutes to die.

Dave Rasure Try this ;-) http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=2254566&mpage=1#2492634 Rasure, that was the solution! Thanks everyone for taking the time to offer suggestions. Much appreciated. Dave Glad you go it sorted, this happens to me whenever I need to reinstall X1, hopefully this will be fixed in X2. Might be worth saving the info on that page in a txt file for future reference, thats what I did :-)
