Sun Down..My Tribute to Gordon Lightfoot (Rock)

Hey folks, I've had this one kick'in around for awhile. I've tweeked and tweeked and tweeked some more.
Big Thanks to my buddy Tony,"Cletis Gonewild" for ripping out some lead guitar work on this.
 Crit's more than welcome, and if you could tell me what your listening to this on would be very helpful. I've been trying out different headphones,and I think I'm chasing my tail...lol

Hi Kev,
I think this may benefit from kind of tearing down and rebuilding your levels. Right now the drums are really buried and your bass guitar is probably louder than it needs to be. If this were me I'd bring all my submixes down, bring up the drums to where they're peaking at about -12db, then slowly add bass guitar so that it sits right, then guitars (being careful to keep your "center" clear with panning and high-passing so they have their own space to live) and finally bring vocals up into the center space you've left with your guitar panning. You also seem to have some excess information at about 150Hz...there are some toms that are ringing there and the bass guitar sounds like it's eating up the headroom in the mix right through that frequency range. I'd probably slap an eq on the bass guitar, put a high pass with a gentle slope on it, pull all the lows out, deal with the upper frequencies so that they sound right then slowly bring back in your low frequencies.

To answer your question, I listened through my Focals, then my Avantones and then through some AKGK271s. The 150Hz stuff was most noticeable on the Focals, but that's probably to be expected.

This was an interesting take on it. that rhythm guitar (to me) feels a little low mid heavy. Maybe keep it and pan it <-----over there, and add a guit with some different processing more highs and a different distortion over there ----> ? and bus them to the Rhythm guit bus? Just a thought.

Janet; Glad you liked it. Vocals still may or may not be totally redone in the near future. Made some copy/paste moves and it's sounding a little better in that department. Trying out some harmonies now, without sounding like "Stewart" from Mad TV..lol
