???Bitbridge???
Soooooooo another problem. I posted a little while ago that my old plugins didn't work. I kept looking for the solution and the only thing I heard was "Bitbridge" is supposed to fix my problem. But wth is bitbridge? It's apparently "invoked" when I open a 32 bit plugin. But its not, I only get a "missing plug in" messages. Honestly, upgrading from S7 to X1 has been MORE of a problem then a solution. X1, as I said before in a previous post has many beautiful plugins and features. But is that it!!??? Am I supposed to just accept that my old music is gone and thats that. Move on from there? I'm thinking about jumping on the ban wagon and just getting a MAC with Protools!! At least then I'll have more technical support!!Because every time I run into a brick wall with X1 it's just that. A brick wall. No one has the answer, no one has a solution. It either works or it doesn't. I'm starting to think X1 was waste of really needed money.

If the plugins in question were DXi, not VST this can happen. 32 bit DXis will not be bridged. The answer is to install the 32 bit version along side the 64 bit version and use that for the older projects.

Thank you for that info. But it's both. Some of my older VST don't even show up at all. I've tried going through the plugin manager and all. Still. Nothing, most of them don't even appear on the list.

Uh... no need to freak out. People use bitbridge every day with their 32 bit plugs. From what I've been told it should be automatic but sometimes you have to rescan for the plugs. Some plugs work better with JBridge instead. Why don't you run your old version as well until you get a better handle on X1? That way you can keep working while you learn.

I got x1 because 7 stopped opening bundles. X1 opens the bundles just fine. But ALL but a very small hand full of plugins stopped working on X1 It's as it X1 doesn't want you to using anything made before it's time. So basically, S7 and X1 aren't working for me. The whole time my team is tapping there watches trying to figure out why am I so far behind in Schedule on projects.

If it's disrupting your business make a list of all the plugs that aren't working and give Cakewalk tech support a call. They should be able to help you get things sorted and let you know which (if any) plugs have known issues. You may have to find more modern solutions. Also you should take a look at whether any of the manufacturers of your plug ins have 64 bit versions available. I'll bet you'll be able to get most of them working with a bit of effort. Good luck.

I think if you put in a support ticket through email you might save a bit of time and confusion on the phone. You can toss all your technical specs and finite details into the email, snag the ticket number then reference it when you call so the tech guy has it on his screen. At least I THINK they can do it that way. However just sending an email tends to take a long time to get a response so the phone call gets you answers quicker. Cheers.

have you uninstalled a previous version of Sonar? I removed 8.5 and bitbridge was deleted with it so i was getting a missing plugin message also. do you have x1 looking in the right folders for your plugins?

I wonder if. X1 is not searching in the right directory for plugs? Go into Preferences and click vst settings in the left-hand column of the window. You'll then see, among other things, a list of all the directories Sonar will search in for your vst plug-ins. Add the missing ones and re-scan. Then reload your project and hopefully all will be well.
