MIDI is not cooperating...

So, I finally got my new midi keyboard in a couple days ago and had some latency issues. Being completely new to this, I thought the crackling was just a problem with the drum kit I bought, so I spent an hour or so playing with the FX to see what would fix it. Eventually I noticed the delay and figured that it and the crackling were connected, so after a bit of research and figuring out the drivers and everything, I had it down to 40 ms with no crackling (might've been able to go lower, was busy testing out the sounds in the drum kit though). It was working great until I closed my laptop, opened it again, and found that the keyboard refused to work at all. Now, when I open up a new file, I can see the playback meter moving on the MIDI track that comes up automatically, but when I open up a Session Drummer 3 track I get no response. I looked for a solution for hours last night, and now I really have no idea. Anybody ever have any problems like this..? I'm using an M-Audio Axiom 49, by the way.

Not knowing the solutions you already tried, I would guess your laptop sleep does not work well with the Axiom, as sometimes happens with USB. Unplug/replug or a reboot is what I would suggest if you haven't already.

I've tried that more times than I care to count. =/ I've tried running through all the driver options I had, checking if it was friendly, tried it with different synths.. I can't remember it all right off the top of my head, I was at it for hours yesterday. I can imagine I screwed something up somewhere. Is there a way I can reset Sonar to the default settings without uninstalling? The last couple things I did before getting it working right was installing the driver with the disc that came with the keyboard, changing the driver mode to MME-32, lowering the "buffers in playback queue"(I think I set this back to where it originally was), and making the "Buffer Size" faster.

    Possible solutions:
    - Hit the Input echo on button on the midi track
    - Are you using a midi track & audio track for Session Drummer?
    - Is the input of the Session Drummer Audio track taking input from the midi track?
    - Is the Axiom set up as the midi source for the midi track?
    - Is the Session Drummer Audio track outputing to the mains or some other sub buss which is outputing to the mains?

If all of the above are answered it's your midi hardware connection or you haven't loaded your sound files properly into Session Drummer.

    Gear: A bunch of stuff.

**- Hit the Input echo on button on the midi track Just turned it on, still nothing.** **- Are you using a midi track & audio track for Session Drummer? I deleted all the tracks/busses that were on when I opened a new file, and added the session drummer. This worked perfectly yesterday, and it was how I was told to do it to start with.** **- Is the input of the Session Drummer Audio track taking input from the midi track? Yep, but even on the track I get nothing on the playback meter.** **- Is the Axiom set up as the midi source for the midi track? Yep (All inputs > MIDI Omni)** **- Is the Session Drummer Audio track outputing to the mains or some other sub buss which is outputing to the mains? I have my monitors plugged into my headphone jack for the moment, and the output is always set to Speakers and Headphones, or Communications headphones. Neither works (they used to) and the playback meter doesn't move when I hit any buttons/keys anyways, so I don't think the problem is there.** **I'm 100% sure I have my sounds loaded properly into SD... The playback meter moves on the default MIDI track when I open Sonar, so I don't think there's a connection problem. I really have no clue what happened here...** EDIT: Why doesn't my enter key work when I post... editing to make it clearer
