Loop Slicer

What can you guys recommend for loop slicing for loading into session drummer?  Dont want to fork out a bunch of money for Geist.  Thanks

Might I suggest the loop construction view built into Sonar. There is several vids that show how to use it to do what you are asking.
    Here is one.http://www.cakewalk.com/CakeTV/SONARU.aspx/Master-Class

If the loops are REX or ACID already you can drag them directly into RXP player or Beatscape; if you have any wave editor that supports saving in the REX format or if the loops are already in REX/ACID that's the way to go. Beatscape has more flexibility and options, I think. Similiar to Geist, no slicing, tweaking and stuff necessary.

If not, open the clip in track view. Maximize both vertically and horizontally. Disable Groove Clip Looping, select the clip, open AudioSnap, and click the button to Enable AudioSnap. Click the Show Transients button and adjust the Threshold level to get all the hits sliced that you want. Select and delete any undesired markers so it doesn't split a hit's tail off (can occasionally happen). Use the Slice button to slice the clip where all the markers are.

If you still want the original groove make sure to select the Copy As Midi button which will allow you to paste the MIDI groove into a track.

Select ALL these little split clips in track view and click the Disable button in AudioSnap. Now you can drag each of the hits into any sampler (for example Session Drummer) and recycle as you please.

    Cheers.
