New song - Space (post-rock/shoegaze)
Here's an actual song that isn't something i just jammed up. By the way, i'm sorry about an earlier thread i posted about an extra track i posted. I haven't worked on fixing that drums and volume fluctuation yet but thank you for all those that commented. this is great. reminds me of Muse meets A Perfect Circle. dig the 6/8 time sig. like the lulls at 1:29/2:27/5:26 & break at 4:29
...something i would buy and listen to :)

I love this song, but I'm not crazy about the mix. It needs more cowbell! Seriously, I couldn't hear your voice under the wall of guitar sound, but if that's how you like it then I'm satisfied. This could be something that I'd buy, too, once you tweak it a time or two.

I agree with Lynn on the vocals. Song, recording, performance--I like everything else. I just wish I could understand the words.

I am not sure if the voice is suppose to be like an instrument and not really heard above it, like more background I guess. I wonder about the drums though, as sometimes those get carried away. So I am not sure about the mix then either for the drums stand out perhaps a bit too much. Different though, and I guess the title is appropriate - for it is and sounds like "Space". I will have to agree and disagree with the others, for I can not really comment about the song except to say that it is like "Space".

@all Thanks for listening! The vocals are intended not to be understood. So that counts as a success for me if it was indeed indecipherable. @spacealf I actually already dropped the drum volume 2db from where it originally was. Is it still a bit too loud in your ears?

With my feet firmly in the post-rock ShoeGaze lovers circle... Mig, this is damn near perfect. It has elements of the Jesus and Marychain (my FAV ShoeGaze), Smashing Pumpkins and newer versions of the same. There was some Cure type guitar happening, too. Nice.
The change-ups are just fabulous. The fuzz guitar is perfect... There is one point where I heard a clean high pitched guitar tone, and it worried me for a millisecond, until I realized it was just a move to a different section and it really worked.
The lyrics are great, the vocals are subdued and melancholy and introspective... Perfect. I'm bookmarking it. Would totally buy it.

@Julie Thank you so much Julie! I'm very happy you liked it, and also for being the few who took a peak on it from Facebook. The Cure definitely plays an influence, although i have never heard any music from Jesus and Marychain. The fuzz guitars ran to a TS-808 and a Peavey 5505 modeler, were quadtracked, and it's the first time i attempted to quadtrack without using the Haas technique. The clean guitar mix was a Roland JC-120 emulator, and is just a little bit mid-scooped because i don't feel comfortable with mid-y clean guitars every since, but i'm glad it was still okay for you.  Also, thank you for appreciating the vocals!

Nice tune. Took a lttle getting used to lyrics being intentionally buried, but i can dig that too. Great writing and guitar work. The drums are quite "Pumpkiny." Good stuff!

@M@B Thanks for listening and appreciating! I'm confused about the word "Pumpkiny" though? Anyway i figured the drums might be a tad too loud, maybe a 1db notch down wouldn't hurt, especially the snare and toms.

I really liked the music but couldn't hear any lyrics at all. I'm on good monitors so, maybe it's just me. I like the tune.

Hey Miggy Nice to hear you doing some rock again. I am also a big shoegaze fan, both the original stuff (Chapterhouse, Ride, MBV etc) and the current BM crossover thing of bands like Alcest and Les Discrets. Vocals still need to come up a lot, but I like the riffs you have hear. mix is ok, a bit too much verb on the solos at times.

Ok, now that I'm over the initial "I love this song" phase... You COULD pull the vox up a bit. I dont mean a lot. Just a bit. May be an automation thing... Sometimes it's ok, sometimes too far back. It would probably mean carving out some space in the wall of guitars, but ok. The other thing... In the guitar solo... It's getting a little lost in the verb. and it's a good solo... So, yeah, I agree with mgh, here. At 3:05... I'm not sure I DISlike the slightly off tune vox, but it keeps sticking out at me... Not blending... I don't always hear that stuff in my own mixes, so I'm pointing it out.
Every time those guitars slam in.... It's Awesome.

@mark and julibee Thanks so much for helping me out with this. I've brought up (automated) the vocals a bit (i'm really not comfortable with raising it even more), then i've removed a little bit of reverb on the solos (still very wet, i just prefer that vibe) and added stereo depth (i realized the leads were quite mono because a plug-in; bypassed it, it went stereo), and most importantly i corrected that pitchy vocal line (thank you so much Julie for pointing that out, it was indeed popping out.)
