Can we start building Pro Channel Fx Chains now and use them in X2?

What I'm asking is if we build and Fx chain 2.0, save it now, then import it to X2 will it work and stay mapped? If so, that would sure give me something to do when the X2 anticipation starts to giving me the shakes.

One of the Bakers will probably chime in here, but if I were you....I'd hold off only because you never know what the final version of X2 may consist of. Saving something associated with X1 may not work well in X2. But I really can't tell you for sure. For example, I remember when X1 came out, my track templates from the initial release of X1 would not work right with the updated versions. This of course could have just been X1 growing pains, but I personally wouldn't do a thing until you have it right in front of you. That sure would suck to have all these things created only to either not be able to use them, or have to edit them so much...you'd be better off creating new ones from scratch, ya know?

Like I say though...I have no idea I'm just speculating here and going from past experiences. From what I've read, this is a pretty big change from X1 in how it's designed under the hood. It may not look drastically different, but I'd be willing to bet the changes are huge. Then again, we've always had some sort of compatibility within each version so you may be ok. Man...tough call, but I'm going to wait it out before I try to create anything that I'd use for X2 until I can get my grubby paws on it. :)

    I feel the same.. :)
I've started to make plans in my head of PC FXchains I'm going to create.

And I've also created a text document where I write down my ideas; The FX(s) that I'll include and also the controls I want available in the PC-module.

So when I get X2 I can just start creating my own FX-Chains from this list and build up a library pretty fast. :)

All fxchain presets from X2 will load into the prochannel. A couple of issues to keep in mind:
    1. Custom knob artwork is ignored when the fxchain is loaded in the PC (these obviously wouldn't fit in the PC). Of course the knobs will load fine if you patch the fxchain in the user bin fxchain view.
    2. Custom backgrounds are loaded in the PC but be careful when you designing them. Since the height and size of a PC module is much smaller than the full fxchains view, do not put dividers etc into the bitmap, otherwise the art won't line up as you expect it in the PC. We have updated some of the older presets to accommodate this issue.

Besides these two issues older presets are completely compatible.
