How does the NLS stack up against the Slate consoles?
NLS is more an effect !! you hear it it can be subtile but crazy , VCC : you feel it (hear it but plays number to really bring the magic) ...

I tend to use nls when i have lifeless sound and VCC on buses when i have lifeless mixes ;)

Gaffpro:  I just bougth it also, and my impression after playing with it for one day is "WOW".  It is easily noticable, even on a single track it makes a difference.  VCC was so subtle it was hard to tell it was working; NLS is dramatic.  And the three types are discernable.    I think I will not have to push this hard at all to get that console sound/glue.  If I can heard the difference, I suspect you also will hear the difference.

It's also interesting that you can pick the modelling of each "channel" on the board individually and each is different,
so you can have your Channel 1 set to Channel 23 on the selected console, Channel 2 to Channel 15 on the selected console and so on...

The last one with the tour through the channels was revealing.  Particularly in the kicks I could hear very much the difference between the channels, and that was audible even with the youtube compressed sound.  This was helpful.  Now, I want to fire up the studio and play with NLS some more.  Thanks for the channel tour.
