Controller Surfaces Query??

Hi

At last got myself a full sized 88 keyboard M-Audio Keystation 88es.
I have some choices when it comes to adding the controller surfaces.  Could anyone tell which one I should use?
I cant see anythng that says M Audio??
Thanks

If the m-Audio doesn't have a dedicated surface use either ACT or the Generic Surface. ACT will probably be better.

For info on how to do that see this video on my youtube page.

Well - it's a question what you want to do with it.

Do you need a controller with pads (to use as a simplified drum surface), or do you need a mixer controller.

For a pad controller Akai has a nice range. I have used the LPD8 and later the MPD18 with succes in X1

M-audio has some nice cheap ones, but they are rather limited (well - the cheap ones are certainly).

If you are on budget and want motorized faders in my opinion the Behringer BCF2000 is unbeatable. It has even a special Sonar modus, and works without a problem with X1.

If you do not have much room for a full motorized fader surface you can opt for the Presonus faderport or the Frontier AlphaTrack (the last one I did not thest under X1, so I cannot say anything about that.

If you want something that is very usable with the X1 Matrix, you can take a look at the Novation launchpad.

So - maybe it is better you give some indications what type of surface you want and what budget you have.

i have high praise for fast bikers videos and i only wish that video was out when i set up mine..but heres the one i watched, though its aimed at a m audio oxygen, its the same thing
besides using a wee bit of logic when adding the correct surface.

@chuckebaby... The OP has a M-Audio Keystation 88es. This is only a bare keyboard without any controllers (apart from a pitchbend-, volume slider and modulation wheel). You do not have to do anything to configure that in X1 (apart from adding it as midi device). I was assuming he wanted to have an additional controller surface, because calling the 88es an control surface is ... well.. somewhat far-fetched ... or a bit odd at least.

Ah.... disregard my advice then. I assumed the M-audio had a control surface section. Simple answer is that you can't then.
