Lost control of rolling crosshair/'now time', clips sit idle

somehow, i've turn off the function that allows the 'time' crosshair to scroll to the next view of the rolling waveforms, whether in playback mode or record mode.

i've never come across this issue before, spent about an hour with the 'help' menu and just trying stuff at random, and i've given up!!

LOL

i need help, what boneheaded thing have i done now?

    Press the Scroll Lock key.
