I went through that a bout a year ago......yeah, it's more painful than stepping on broken bones.
One of my Dr.'s said that gout is the start of your body telling you things can get worse, IF you don't take care of it right now. I opted to not using drugs (allopurinol & pain meds) to combat this and I've been gout free since then.
Initially, I changed my diet (red meats, alcohol, and generally foods high in purine) which was tough as I love my steaks......but I don't like gout, so I did what I had to do. Another thing that induces gout is high fructose syrups (soda).....I switched to the pure cane sugar products.

Drink lots of water and the best medicine for gout is CHERRY JUICE (from concentrate, it's sour and not all that tasty, but 1 glass a day has done the job) which has worked wonders.

Good luck with this Mooch ol buddy, I've felt your pain.

Mooch I remember when I saw you. You said the pain was bad then but I saw you walk around.

This time sounds worse, is it?

I want you to get better and stay better this time.

Yeah, get better, and take care of yourself.

Historical note: while Mozart died broke, his compatriot - a minor, but popular composer Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf - actually died from gout.

You don't want to mess with that.

What was the average life expectancy of humans back when they ate a paleo diet? Had it hit 30 year or was it still hovering around the 25 mark?

Gout: eat a lot of dried cherries. They contain anthoycyanins which are good for inflammatory related conditions. Along the same lines, turmeric is very beneficial for gout. You can buy turmeric extract in capsules which is a very concentrated form and works wonders.

    I thoroughly recommend taking Voltarol.

This used to be prescription only in the UK, but you can get it over the counter now - and - there is an "extra strength" version which clears up my attacks in less than 12 hours

This might seem like a long time to non-gout sufferers, but it's quite short compared to how long a really bad attack can last.
