    Hey Rocky...

Yep, I'm working on the SONAR X2 Power book now. But I still have a lot of work to do, so it won't be out for quite a few months yet. Anyone interested in learning more about SONAR should still look for the SONAR X1 Power book for now...

    Thanks!

Would there be a market for an X2 upgrade booklet for those who already have X1 Power rather than repeat the whole manual and throwing the old one away?

    Hi Glenn,

No, can't do that. I don't own the book. The publisher owns it, so they call the shots. And the publishing industry doesn't work that way. When there's a significant amount of new material, it justifies a new edition.

Plus, an upgrade booklet wouldn't work very well, because there are a lot of small changes throughout the many chapters of the book as well.

Not to worry... there's plenty of new material and the new edition will be well worth the price.

    Thanks!
    Scott

We'll have tutorial video about what's changed from X1 to X2 out around the time of X2's release. Hopefully that will help with the transition a bit.

On the subject of X2 tuition albeit video.... SWA Complete Sonar X2 is on pre-release special at the moment.

There's just over nine hours of video covering all of Sonar from basics to beyond, including all the X2 enhancements.

Is the X2 manual pdf shipping with X2 on release day or will we have to wait for it?

    Hi Randall,

I'm really sorry about that. This has been a problem for a while now, but unfortunately, I don't have any control over the situation.

The publisher is working on an international distribution agreement for its entire book catalog and that is why the eBook editions haven't been available outside the US. I don't know when the agreement will be completed.

At the moment, I'm pointing people either to the print edition or to the Barnes & Noble Nook edition, which is electronic. They provide free reader software for a variety of devices. But I'm not sure if the Nook version is available outside the US... it might be.

    Thanks!
    Scott
